Sainsburys Volunteer at Seymour House

Seymour House, operated by The Orders of St John Care Trust, is being supported by Sainsbury’s Chippenham. The initiative is a part of the supermarket’s 150th birthday celebrations, which includes 150 days of volunteering across the country that continues the company’s history of putting local communities first.  Colleagues from the Chippenham store will be volunteering in the garden, reading to residents and engaging in various home activities.

This partnership along with Sainsbury’s 150-year milestone was celebrated at the home on the 29th of May. The Sainsbury’s team kindly brought with them cakes, bunting and a garden activity for the residents. A wonderful time was enjoyed by all and gratitude for the time the Sainsbury’s team spent interacting and conversing with the Seymour House residents, carers and volunteers.

Dawn Wallburton, Home Manager of Seymour House, comments: “We would like to thank Sainsbury’s Chippenham for their support and commitment to our home. We are really looking forward to building on our relationship and working closely together for the benefit of the residents.”

Store Manager, Val Atwill said: “We’re really excited to be helping Seymour House; it’s a great way for our colleagues to come together and support the community. It’s so important for us to give back to our local community and what better time than in our 150th year.”

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “In this landmark year, we want to give back to the communities we have been a part of for a century and half and bring them into the celebrations. The diversity of causes that our colleagues care about just goes to show the values that run through our business – and we’re looking forward to seeing the impact these 150 days has on the people we care about.”
