Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, a national charity focused on the training of assistance dogs, are looking for clubs, groups & organisations in the Royal Wootton Bassett area to invite a speaker from the charity, to talk about the amazing work this organisation does in your local community.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People train dogs to alert deaf recipients to sounds they would otherwise miss. Sounds as simple as the doorbell, an alarm clock or the fire alarm can be taken for granted. On top of this practical assistance the dogs also provide huge emotional support.

As Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is not government funded and relies solely on donations, speaking to groups in the community is a valuable way for them to generate support.
Community Fundraising Manager for South West & South Wales, Lauren Maher, says: “By having our volunteer speakers visit local groups and organisations, we can spread the word and raise awareness about what a difference our dogs make. In some cases our speakers are recipients themselves and have very powerful stories to tell”.
