Bath Cats and Dogs Emporium Opens Its Doors

Bath Cats and Dogs Home’s newest shop has

recently opened on Moorland Road in Oldfield Park, Bath.  The Boutique Charity Emporium breaks all the conventions of how a charity shop should look and feel – as it is stocked only from carefully selected vintage and retro items.

Sara, the Trading Manager, explained “In such an exciting area of Bath, we didn’t want to be just another charity shop. We wanted to create a place which was as much a destination as the other independent shops on Moorland Road.”

Vintage fashion is enjoying a revival – not as a gimmick, but as a way of gaining clothes that were made with quality in mind. It is a reaction from the fast fashion of high street shops. Ella, the Retail Operations Manager, explains “Discerning shoppers understand that prices will reflect the quality of the product just as it would in any high street store, and are turning to vintage shops to find reasonably-priced key pieces for their wardrobe. And we have some fantastic labels in such as Burberry, Mulberry and Jaeger.”

The shop not only has clothes, but also accessories, homeware and curiosities including tableware from Royal Doulton and Portmeirion. For pet lovers, they can be secure in knowing that all profits go to help the animals in Bath Cats & Dogs Home.

With the wonderful Oldfield Park Bookshop across the street, and the relaxed Velo Lounge cafe and bar nearby – Moorland Road is now the place to go for an afternoon out – having a good browse and catch-up with friends. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Opening times: Monday to Saturday, 9am – 5pm.

Moorland Road can be reached easily by rail (Oldfield Park stop) and by bus (ask at the bus station for routes).
